Alaska High Adventure 2006

Welcome To Troop 1548

We are located in Fairfax Virginia and our chartering organization is the Greenbrier Civic Association.  We are in the Sully District of the National Capital Area Council.

Usually we use one weekend a month to get out and do interesting things including: hiking, camping, backpacking, bicycling trips, skiing, visiting the FBI academy, and much more.  We also spend a week at summer camp each year at one of the regional Boy Scout camps.  Some of the older scouts in the Troop participate in 'high adventure' outtings as Venture Patrols.  In 2004 we sent two Venture Patrols to the Kenai Pennsula in Alaska where they spend 12 days canoeing, backbacking, rafting, and sight seeing in the wonderful Alaskan wilderness.  The Troop returned to Alaska in 2006 canoing a tributary of the Yukon river and backpacking in Denali State Park.  This summer we will be sailing and snorkling in the Florida Keys.

Our troop meetings are held eachWednesday night at 7:30 p.m. usually at Poplar Tree Elementary School.  Feel free to come and visit us.
